BONDO TRANSFERS
Duration: 2 Days
Saturday, December 20
9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Sunday, December 21
9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
This 2-day workshop covers the entire process of creating bondo transfers, from concept to application. Creating bondo transfers, also known as Tinsley transfers, 3D transfers, or Pros-Aide transfers, is a useful skill for makeup artists and special effects enthusiasts. Having bondo transfers readily available not only saves time on your typical prosthetic applications, but they’re also perfect for those close-up camera shots with their flawless edges and durability.
This course includes sculpting, moulding, casting, as well as an application & paint session. You will take home silicone moulds of your very own custom sculptures. With your moulds, you may run prosthetics in silicone, latex or gelatine as well.
  1. Sculpting: You’ll learn the art of sculpting custom prosthetic pieces. Sculpting is a critical step in creating realistic and unique effects, such as wounds, scars, and other special makeup effects.
  2. Moulding: This part of the workshop will teach you how to create high-quality silicone moulds of your sculptures. Mould-making is essential for replicating your original design multiple times accurately.
  3. Casting: Once you have the moulds, you’ll learn how to run your prosthetics, ensuring thin edges and a bubble-free piece.
  4. Application: Applying prosthetics correctly is crucial for achieving realistic and seamless effects. You’ll receive meticulous guidance on how to apply the transfers to achieve flawless edges and durability.
  5. Paint Session: Besides application, painting plays a significant role in making the prosthetics blend seamlessly with the actor’s skin and the overall makeup look. You’ll learn techniques for painting and coloring your prosthetics to match the desired effect.
  6. Take-home silicone moulds: One of the highlights of this workshop is that you get to take home the silicone moulds of your custom sculptures. This means you can continue creating your prosthetics even after the workshop.
* All materials, equipment, sculpting tools and PPE will be provided for use during the workshop.
To register, a one-time payment of $650 may be made, or a $325 deposit is required to reserve a spot, as this is a first- come, first-serve basis. Full tuition must be paid by December 12th, 2025. 4 spots available.
